Season 2
‘Dancing with the Stars’ second season was premiered on ABC Network on January 5, 2006 and season finale was aired on February 26, 2006. In the second season, 10 couples participated to compete against each other instead of six in the first season. Timings were also extended and each episode of second season was ninety minutes long. Drew Lachey Cheryl Burke Winners
Throughout the second season of series, Drew Lachey and Stacy Keibler remained the favorites of viewers because of their solid dance performances. Lachey was liked by viewers for his passion and desire to adopt challenges and Keibler was lauded for her long legs and technical know-how. As per judges’ scoring, they remained on the top two spots and they both were the only ones to receive the perfect score. In the eighth week of the season, Drew and Cheryl became the first couple to get double 30s in a row. Drew and Cheryl and Jerry Rice/Anna Trebunskaya were the only couples who’re never chosen for the bottom two. For their brilliant performances, both Lachey and Keibler were complemented by the judges as the best or among the best dancers in any international show.
In this season, various musical guests performed such as the Pussycat Dolls, Jesse McCartney, Mary J. Blige, and Sissor Sisters and many more. This season, Perfect 10s were given to Stacy/Tony and Drew/Cheryl and the no. of total 10s was 15 and 12 respectively. In the season finale, Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke were announced the winners and Jerry Rice/Anna Trebunskaya ended securing the second place.
